Dear Blog,
I have been lucky enough to have two long weekends within two weeks of each other, so let me tell you what we have been up to. Juan and I went Guadalajara a couple of weeks ago and took the Tequila Express, which is a train that takes you to Tequila country. We basically took a train ride from Guadalajara to the tequila capital of the world. During the ride, they serve you all kinds of tequila. Personally, I don't like straight tequila, so I enjoyed it mixed with some sort of mango soda. Once we got to the factory where they make the tequila, we took a tour and saw where all the magic happens. There was also a lot of food and music and stuff. There was this one lady (she told us she was 70) that was totally crazy. She kept getting up and dancing when the mariachis came to play in our train car. At one point, she dropped a maxi-pad in the middle of the aisle, and everyone was cracking up. It was a lot of fun.
I have been enjoying a nice, long weekend. Today is Mexican Revolution Day or something, so I have the day off. Juan and I went to Morelia, located in the near-by state of Michoacan, for the weekend. Morelia is a charming colonial city about 4 hours from Mexico City. We pretty much ate our way around the city. Yesterday, we celebrated Juan's 31st birthday. That guy is getting old.
Next week I go to San Diego for Thanksgiving with my sister! I am so excited!!
Kisses,
Jenny en la ciudad
