My Country Taxista

Dear Blog,

Guess what? My taxi driver this morning was from North Carolina. Of course, I didn't know this at first because he was also Mexican and speaking in Spanish. He asked me where I was from, and I told him, and he said that he was from Sanford. The best part was that he did not have a Mexican accent (as he grew up there); instead, he had a country bumpkin accent. I loved it! It made my day meeting a Mexican with a country accent.

Spring Break

Dear Blog,

I have been on Spring Break this week. I would've written to you sooner, but I have been really lazy.

Here are some highlights of my week thus far:

-Making homemade food for the doggies. I think Monty might be allergic to grains because he keeps getting rashes and ear infections. Apparently, some dogs have food allergies. I decided to start making their food without corn and stuff in it to see if it helps. Too bad I can't just slip him a Claritin and call it a day.

-Watching the first season of Glee. I ordered it on Amazon and enjoyed it thoroughly. I've never quite seen anything like it, but I love the music. It's like a mini-musical every week...what could be better than that?

-Cleaning. Blu has been shedding--A LOT--so I have been consumed with sweeping. I probably sweep the apartment like 5 times a day, and I still feel like dog hair is taking over my life. I feel like this must be some sort of immersion therapy for my fear of messes. They are lucky that I love them.

-Having the carpets cleaned. Is there anything better than a freshly steamed carpet? For me, not really. Man, I love a clean carpet.

In other news, our pet snail (that's right, we have a pet snail) fell and broke its shell. It seems to be doing okay, but I guess we will see what happens. It lives in the forest that is our living room. I mean if we are going to have 8 trees in our house, why not have a pet snail?

Tonight, we are going to go to some club that play 80's music (in English and Spanish). I'm curious about Spanish 80's music, so I guess I am going to find out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Much love,
Jenn en la ciudad
