Dear Blog,
I am starting to panic that I will not be able to watch the Olympics this year. No cheering on my country. No Bob Costas. No swimming. No track and field. No reminiscing about the glory days of gymnastics--the "Belarussian Swan", Tatyana Gutsu (a.k.a. the "Painted Bird"), Kim Zmeskal, and all gymnasts named Svetlana. Remember the great Paul Hamm controversy of 2004? Remember how an American female finally won the gold all-around medal?
It is August now, and I don't see cable or internet in my near-future. I guess I could go to a sports bar or something, like the time a terrible storm hit Wrightsville Beach during the 2000 Olympics and Erin and I had to watch our favorite event, gymnastics, at the laundromat.
As for everything else, Blog, it is good. I drove again in the city. American drivers better look out when I make my triumphant return. Juan and I are continuing to watch "Lost." We are into season 3 now, but we accidentally started on episode 5 and were a little confused about the season premiere, until I realized that Juan put in the wrong disc. Needless to say, I put the discs in now.
I will write to you when I can, Blog.
Much love from S.O.B,
Jenny en la ciudad

hahah. you make me laugh, jenny en la ciudad.
Jenny jen jen---ahhh- early hours with you, coffee, and blog--love it--like reading a "Jen en la ciudad" novel. Maybe a new series down the road like "Madeleine's adventures in Paris" or "Sadie and the Mice". No super 8 hotel in the future for "the rebirth of gymnastic days gone by" is truly sad. Although I feel your pain, I know you will overcome and find a way! Where is the embassy police for our Jen en la ciudad with no connections? Juan must come to the rescue....to be continued...
Love, love and more love,
Mar
Jen, da
hope you're over your cholera--just kidding-just finished that novel--a bit stupefying but I loved the writing--need your social security number for my new job in Columbia--took Makayla to Columbia(she loved the principal, I think because she gave Makayla a peanut cluster while we talked)to , went to zoo, and a discovery-type museum--she is quite the curious type--also went to myrtle beach with Erin, Mar, Makayla and me in the same room--lights went out for 3 hrs. on Thursday--they said I was scared of the lightning but don't believe it--I snoozed through it--got a ticket on way home with Makayla in Mar's cursed tennis shoe--that car sticks out like a sore big toe--keep bloggin, love dramadad
